Carlos Guillamón is a researcher at the Propulsion Technologies Group of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering (2018) from Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) and earned a PhD in Energy and Transfers (2022) from INP Toulouse (France), conducted in collaboration with the aircraft engine manufacturer Safran. Carlos joined BSC in 2022, initially as a postdoctoral researcher and now as a permanent member of the team. His expertise spans liquid atomization, turbulent combustion modeling, gas turbine combustion, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using high-performance computing (HPC). His current research focuses on hydrogen and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) combustion in aeroengines, the development of digital twins for industrial furnaces, and applying machine learning techniques to combustion challenges.
